Lip gloss or lip balm? which is better? :)?

I like to use some of both.





In cold weather,a nice balm with peppermint or a chapstick are great for soothing your lips.





In warmer weather,glosses are great for giving your lips a bit of color.Lip gloss or lip balm? which is better? :)?
I prefer a lip balm because there are many different brands and flavors. Some lip balms contain a SPF of at least 6 and you'll protect your lips from being chapped or sun burned.





On the other hand, lip gloss adds shine to your lips if you apply over a lip balm or lip stick. But but it can also attract sun causing chapped or sun burned lips.





I would wear a tinted lip balm if you want the lip gloss effect, but lip balms are always better!Lip gloss or lip balm? which is better? :)?

its not gooey, your hair wont get stuck in it wen its windy, and you wont look like a clown if you miss a little or if you're putting it on in the car and you suddenly hit the brakes . . .





also, most guys dont like kissing a chick with lip gloss on . . .

but if you still want a color boost or a little shine, thare are lip balms that can give you that AND SPF :]





such as burt's bees :] you can get the tinted kind :]





if you want flavor, lip balms offer that as well (smackers probably has more flavors than baskin robbins . . .)

It's hard to choose really to be honest.


I use vaseline.


vaseline is a lip balm and it will moisture your lips and it also gives the effect of gloss.


The thing to be careful with vaseline is that your lips can become dependent on it.


This isn't Just Vaseline this is any lip balm.

Well they're both meant for different things.. lip balm is supposed to stop your lips getting chapped and lipgloss is meant to make your lips shiny..





but.. i have to go with lip balm, you can get tinted lip balm to get a nice colour aswell and it looks natural and actually stays on.
I personally love lip gloss. I'm an addict. XD





If you want both, you should get C.O. Bigelow Ultra Mentha Lip Shine from Bath and Body Works ($5). They give you a nice gloss and when the glossiness disappears, your lips are left moisturized and so soft... I love it!!!
They both have different qualitys but I just don't understand something why don't you just wear a colored lip balm for lipstick and put some kind of gloss over it and then the war between the two is over :D

lip balm is just to soothe the lips


lip gloss contains colour/glitter, if you want your lips to look shiny


in my opinion i think you should go for a clear lip gloss


that way your lips look naturally shiny
i personally love lip gloss, and i tend to always have one in my purse! for touch ups through out the day! and in the winter i usually use lip balm. more of a lip gloss girl tho, and this summer im deff into lipsticks!
Lip balm. It comes in yummy flavors, it doesn't become sticky and your hair won't stick to it when it's windy. It looks more natural, yet still looks cute, and it's more neat.

I use lip balm everyday, it keeps my lips nice and soft. I'll only use lip gloss if I'm going out or if I'm just in that kind of mood.
I use a lip mask, lip balm, lip primer, lipstick and TOP it with lipgloss
gloss looks better but balm is better for your liips.


i prefer the gloss.
Get a half and half, like burts bees lip balm gloss. (get it in an spf though or the shimmer will get your lips burnt.)
