I know you said only drugstore, but I REALLY recommend that you check into MAC's lipglasses. They're very pigmented and have an incredible staying power.
They're $14 each and some drugstore brands have lipglosses that are $10!

I wish the other militay services would do the same. My husband is in the Navy and he is always telling me about how the guys cheat on thier wives when they are on deployment. Alot of the wives are just as bad. You need to confront your husband and maybe suggest marriage counseling. Hopefully it isn't what you think but it sounds like he is having an affair.

Ask him to go away for a two week vacation and see what his reaction is.

How about a tinted lip balm? It'll give your lips some color and keep them moisturized, but they're not nearly as sticky and gooey as lip gloss. I really like Alba Terra Tints Natural Lip Balm.

if you are planning on kissing someone, witch thats not weird at all, then i would say go for it.
I should say how ever, it does not matter whats on your lips when you are kissing, as long as you are a good kisser you are fine.
Usually the guy really doesn't care whether you're wearing lip gloss or not because he's just psyched that you're kissing him. But some guys are worried about the sticky stuff that's on your lips. For a first kiss, I would go without lip gloss so that he can get a feel for HOW you kiss instead of what's on your lips. After that, you can wear lip gloss to make it a little more interesting and fun. But remember, you don't want to over-do it because then it will make him feel like he's being smothered in syrup!!

How about a tinted lip balm? It'll give your lips some color and keep them moisturized, but they're not nearly as sticky and gooey as lip gloss. I really like Alba Terra Tints Natural Lip Balm.

I should say how ever, it does not matter whats on your lips when you are kissing, as long as you are a good kisser you are fine.
Usually the guy really doesn't care whether you're wearing lip gloss or not because he's just psyched that you're kissing him. But some guys are worried about the sticky stuff that's on your lips. For a first kiss, I would go without lip gloss so that he can get a feel for HOW you kiss instead of what's on your lips. After that, you can wear lip gloss to make it a little more interesting and fun. But remember, you don't want to over-do it because then it will make him feel like he's being smothered in syrup!!

I was the same until 3 years ago! My son was born and very handsome and me looking dull was not cool anymore. I also LOVE LIP GLOSS! Here you go: go to the nearest MAC counter; get a studio fix that matches your skin; 3 or 4 lip glosses(my favorties right now are string bean, osyster girl, beau, instant gold); get a concealer that matches and ask them to show you how to put it under your eyebrow works for a great eyeshadow and you can never put to much. Go to Sally's Beauty Supply for your brushes; you will need a larger brush to apply your studio fix, small angeled brush for your the concealer under your brows and a lip stick brush to mix your glosses. I love masacara by Maybelline(the one with the small comb thingy is what I use now)! Never use water proof you can get it off! Your first trip to Mac will cost you about 40 to 60 bucks, but it will last you for a all time! I have funny skin and I dont break out using their products! The brushes from Sally's 20 bucks if you buy all 3 and mascaras from Walmart about 6 bucks. Your worth it, spend it on yourself! This will give you the natural glam look you are going for! Once your use it, it will take 10 minutes to get it done in the mornings. Once your use to putting on make up go back to Mac and get some BLUSHES, they are wonderful! and as a new mom, you want to keep the routine simple so i'll tell you what i do when time is cut short. the basics, good cleanser, make sure your skin is nice and clean, then mix your moisturizer with a foundation and apply to the areas you need it. if you don't need it, then you can skip. if you have dark circles, put a bit of concealer on. then sweep on some peachy coloured blush on the apples of your cheeks. if you like you can use some allover bronzer but being a woman of color i don't know that you will want or need it. put on some mascara and some lip gloss and you should be looking fine. for some added zip, put a little bit of gold eyeshadow towards the inner corner of the eye and on the browbone below your eyebrows. this really opens up the eyes and makes you look refreshed.

i wear lipstick...its a wet shine kind...so it gives the shinyness and it gives the vivid color a lipstick gives...like a 2 in 1 i guess...i think if u get the right kind of lipstick...u know that ';it'; lipstick...it makes lips look oo lala and doesnt age u at all...also if u get pale shades and nude shades of lip stick...they are an awesome base for shaddow...just saying i do it...i also use lipstick as shaddow it self and the lip color sometimes when i travel...i think a lot of people think its aging because its always marketed by the 30+ models and actresses in ads...i dunno i think the right shade is whats its all about too...who wants to keep trying lipstick on to find that ';it'; shade. lolWhy don't people wear lipstick anymore? all I see is lip gloss every where..?

Some lip glosses and also lipsticks DEFINITELY dry out your lips. Particularly cheap brands. Try using Carmex or Blistex lip products - they are super products which make your lips in great condition.

If you're a natural eprson, then use natural shades. Earth tones like soft tans and browns for eyeshadow... a 'highlight' means that you have a lighter color closer to your brow, and the 'base' is the color closer to your eyelash. Use shades of the same color, or a really light soft pink on the top with a slightly dark brown on bottom. Mascara will accent it all really nicely, and the good stuff won't shift under your eyes. If you want to experiment with eyeliner, make sure that you keep it thin, and CLOSE to your eye... Best way to do this is to grab your eyelash and gently pull downward, and then sharpen your pencil and draw in short smooth lines an overall smooth line along the edge.
You don't need makeup, although I enjoy it, your skin will be better in the long run without it. If you have any skin issues, use bare minerals (the original) it has minerals that are good for ur skin and can be as light or heavy as u want depending on how much you put on.
Otherwise, try dressing up ur hair or straightening it for a ';done up'; look.
As for makeup, use lipgloss with some color and for your eyes use an eyeshadow close to ur skin color with some shimmer
it adds a little makeupwithout looking too intense.
and use 1 coat mascara and some eyeliner.
this is a basic look you can try =)

Lipstains are good for that and you can't feel them at all. Revlon has a new one, and mark has them in several colors. There's look like a magic marker, so there easy to apply.

I would try asking at the cosmetic counters from some really nice department stores...and or target stores has sometimes a person that comes in for ';Boot's';,makeup and the skin care line..and I had a lady help me with nail colors and such..and she was really helpful!

Lip balm will moisturize your lips and add some color (Mark catalog is selling some in tins and Burt's Bees has a variety of colors in sticks). Lip stain also adds color and is longer-lasting, my favorite brand for that is Pixi. You can search Sephora.com for more options.
Try a tinted lip balm. Neutrogena makes a nice array of colors. The line itself is called ';Moistureshine,'; and can be found at almost any drugstore.
I also realllllly liked a tinted balm I just picked up from Sephora. It is by Juice Beauty and is called ';SPF 15 Tinted Lip Moisturizer'; in ';Playful.'; It is the perfect shade of reddish pink that is amazingly sheer. I'm very pale, and this shade looks great on me.

okay, so i'm pretty sure one of the main ingredients in the lip gloss is cinnamon, and i've never had an allergy to cinnamon. but anyway, after about a week of use, my top lip felt sunburned and started peeling. it hasn't stopped, although i discontinued use.

No, and I've used that same lip gloss you're speaking of. But I know certain things can chap your lips, and that's all you have. Chapped lips. It burns and peels, etc, right? Yep, you're just chapped. I've been there a million times. The weather does it to me, especially if it's windy. Just stop licking your lips, stop peeling the skin off and use a halfway decent chap stick and it will stop. I don't know why that particular lip gloss did that to you, but it could be because it's cheapish. Maybe you have high-end lips, lol. You need the better stuff. ;-) Maybellene makes GRRRRRRRRREAAT plumping gloss but as a warning, it does kind of hurt and feel weird and tingly/numb when you first put it on so make sure your peeling areas have healed if you're gonna use it. For the duration of the time using this lip gloss, can you stop when you like the size of your lips instead of continuing for 3 weeks? And when you stop using it, does it gradually go to its regular size, or immediately goes to its regular size?

You can stop using the plumper whenever you want but don't expect long lasting results and I would recommend using it a few hours in advance if you notice the redness that happens to some woman.

Even lip balms! Whats wrong with me.
I have fair skin and blue eyes.Lip liner, lip stick, lip gloss, all lip products look bad on me!?
I thought the same thing for years and years with my own skin/eyes/and hair (medium brown skin and dark hair/dark eyes) but I've learned that the actual color of my lips was overpowering the lipstick or gloss I was putting on top. Just as the other answer suggested, try dabbing on a bit of foundation over your lips to give your lips a true to color look from the tube of lipstick u choose. Not all colors will work on everyone but you should definitely be able to find a wide array of pinks and neutral tones that work well with your skintone and eyes. Especially with blue eyes. Try buying a lip plumper to begin with. In most cases, the reason lip glosses and lip products don't look good, is because the lips are too thin to handle to product. Try a lip plumper, first of all, and also stick to sheer shades of pink, mostly light but you can go a bit darker depending on the occasion, and if you want to wear lipstick, go with a moisturizing lipstick in a nude/light pink shade, and apply gloss as a top coat. Good luck!
Try sheer lipglosses and lip sticks that go with your complexion. If this really bothers you got to a counter and ask for a consultation. For some colour reccomendations I'd try warm dirty rose-pinks or warm copper brown peachy apricot nudes. for the pink I'd try Bonnebell Liplites in Berry 'nilla Creme for the nude I'd try Stila Lip Glaze in Vanilla or their new Silk Shimmer Gloss in Kitten. All of them would look good on you cause thier sheer but with a tint of colour that's still noticible and have not over the top shimmer. Don't worry too much and hope I helped [=

I'm thirteen and my mom likes me to wear lipgloss and a little eyeliner to highlight my eye. But in weddings she allows me to wear heavy face make up. She tells me that she doesn't allow me to wear heavy face make up on a daily basis because she doesn't want me to look like a flirt and attract too much attention. Also, she says she doesn't want to hide the natural beauty my face has.

Its because she's your mum, and she still sees you as being her little girl. She loves you very much and could be worrying about you growing up. Thats kind of what my mum went through when I started going out with my friends more, buying my own clothes, etc when I was your age.
If this doesnt' relax your mum about your wearing make up (and I know that this might not go down very well!!) I had a friend whose mum used to stop her wearing make up. so, before going out, she'd put her make up in her bag, come over to my house, put it on and then we;d go out. Then, before going home, she'd come back to mine again and use make-up remover wipes to take it off. (Her mum or dad would then drive to my house and collect her, and be totally none the wiser that she'd gone out wearing make up.)
I'd first advise though, talk to your mum and even suggest a mad girly afternoon where you do each other's make up for fun. It might lighten her up a little.
just talk to your mom about getting zome really natural stuff so it doesnt look harsh--like some light browns, maybe nude pinks for eyeshadow--and comprimise with her on the eyeliner--my mom will let me where any color of eyeliner i want, but i had to start with just browns and natural eyeliner colors (no black, purple, green, aqua) and i could only apply it to the top lash line
My daughter is now 17. I let her start wearing makup when she was 13. I showed her how to apply it and made sure she didn't wear alot. The way she wears it now, you can't even tell she has any on. Good luck with your mom but consider that your mother probably thinks that you don't need makeup...that you have a natural beauty.
I was in the same predicament, ask your mom if you could go shopping and possibly pick out some natural makeup together. If she doesn't go for that slowly add more makeup each day, one day some mascara, a few weeks later some eyeshadow. But if your mom it the type that will flipp out and ground you point out that you are going into, or are already in highschool and you think you can make your own makeup and wardrobe descisions...That one worked for me, sure i ended up doing my own laundrey to show that i was mature enough, But do whatever it takes

My mom didn't allow me to wear make up until I was 16. Though now I am a mom with a step daughter who knew nothing about make up I taught her at 15 how to wear make-up in the lightest touches to look natural. If your mom wears make up may be you might want to try and ask her to teach you to wear a little like she does. If you copy her way she may add a little more to your lip gloss, not to encourage you too much I believe 14 is young for make up but I also taught my neices at your age at their mothers request and approval. You have nothing to lose except having to weight another year or two. Good luck =) J

I have a step daughter who is 13 years old, ad that is all she wears. More than that is to much for your age. I made the mistake of wearing make up that young, and I look back and regret it. Trust me you have plenty of make up applying days ahead of you!
just be patient she'll let you add a few things slowly, just try adding soft neutral colors, or better yet ask her if she can take you to a place that give's free make-overs then she can see it from a professional point of view, and she'll feel like she is having a say in it, there is a proper way for 14 year old girls to apply make-up and it's best to learn from a professional, if you go buy what magazines look like you would look like a clown, you can get a free make-over at any department store, merle normal or have a mary kay party, and just remember to include your mother in the process, let her feel important in the decision making ok?

However, I don't think you should start wearing other cosmetics until you're at least 16... and even then, don't over do it.
When I was this age( I'm 17 now) I was allowed to wear makeup. This was my 8th grade year, which would have found me wearing gloss, blush, mascara, eyeliner and powder. Now, I realize I was fortunate enough to have no bad days, since I applied it lightly- a point you may way to emphasize to your mother. Makeup is usually about how much you apply, not how many products. Now, even though I'm older, I don't wear much more-concealer and curling my eyelashes, on top of what I wore in 8th grade, but it is enough, nonetheless. Ask your mother if you may wear a little blush, curl your eyelashes, wear clear mascara, and some eyeshadow. It will give you polish without being obvious, which is what your mom seems to fear. You don't need tinted lipgloss, because you're too young to need it-- teens and kids have naturally rosy lips and cheeks so you wouldn't need lipstick or blush...
Your mom probably doesn't want you to wear makeup that you don't need, because it cost more and is an unnessicary waste of time.
I must say it's a little overrated that you can't wear a little bit of clear mascara-- clear mascara doesn't run underneath your eyes and make you look goth and it's natural.
Talk to your mom and ask for just basic makeup.
You can tell her her it makes you happier and feel better, etc. (if that's true). Take your mom to Target or something into the makeup aisle and show her a piece of makeup that you would like to wear. Don't just say, ';Mom, I want to wear eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow, blush...'; Tell her one at a time, over time.

definetley lip balm beacuase hair gets stuck to lip gloss, and lipstick smears.lip balm leaves you a little shine and make my lips feel soft.=)

I am getting a cheaper one from wall mart and what flavor is best i can not get straw berry or watermelon he scents make my head hurt so what is the best flavor??

the ones with red-dyes may be the reason your head is hurting. Alot of people are allergic to red dyes that are used in makeup, candy, etc.
I would say try glosses that have no red/pink pigment and go for ones that may be yellow-toned or clear. Some good ones would be pina colada, vanilla, citrus, just plain clear, or maybe something minty.
coconut is a great flavor that won't make your head spin. Also if your tongue accidental touches it, it doesn't taste horrible, it tastes a little like coconuts, then again I don't like coconuts so I don't know what they taste like but it still taste fine.
Try something more subtle, like vanilla or coconut. Also, I've never tried Walmart lip glosses, but there is a brand called Liplicious that has loads of different flavors that look great, smell great, and don't taste too bad either.

Try the Mary-kate and Ashley lip glosses they taste great and are cheap I have had one of them for 6 months now its called pink lemonade.
