Bonne Bell is a cosmetics company that was founded in 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio, by cosmetics salesman JESSE BELL.


He named it after the heroine of Emerson Hough's novel ';The Man Next Door';.





Bonne Bell also expanded into an entire range of makeup products. the most famous of which was Lip Smackers. In 1973, Bonne Bell introduced a flavored lip gloss named ';Lip Smackers';. The first flavor created was strawberry.





Lip Smackers comes in flavors such as fruit, candy, or soda pop. Some varieties are tinted, while others include glitter.





There are now other variations known as Lip D'Votion and Lip Lix (with added color). Bonne Bell is now so popular they make special holiday packs for holidays such as Christmas. Bonne Bell has expanded their line to include nail polish as well.Who made Smackers Lip Gloss?
